Our practice of Gastroenterology and Hepatology was established in Gainesville over 30 years ago. The medical practice environment continues to evolve at a rapid pace. We have built a practice which allows us to serve our community with pride & excellence. Directions to our office from I-75:
Take I-75 to Exit 387, make a right turn at the bottom of the exit ramp onto Newberry Road (SR 26). Continue East on Newberry Road for approximately 1.5 miles.
Turn left onto the street between North Florida Regional Women’s Center and the duck pond (62nd Street). Turn right at the crosswalk, follow curve to the Medical Arts Building Parking Area.

Most insurance companies have criteria to determine whether they feel a service is “medically necessary.” This often means that each type of service is linked with certain diagnoses for which that service has been deemed appropriate. If your diagnosis does not meet the criteria for “medically necessary,” your claim may be denied. This does not mean that the service was inappropriate or unnecessary. In some situations, the claim may be approved when additional information has been sent to the insurance company.
Q: Will my procedure (colonoscopy, upper endoscopy etc) be covered by my insurance? A: In MOST cases, procedures are covered by your insurance plan, but each insurance carrier has their own list of covered benefits.
Q: My insurance is an HMO; will I need an authorization for my office visit and procedure? A: All HMO’s require a referral from the patients Primary Care Physician for both the office visit and any procedures or tests ordered. If your insurance plan requires a referral for your office visit, please be sure to bring one with you to your office appointment.
